From Saul at yamahamusicians.com:

The forum is online, but it can take and absolute age to load sometimes.

The root korgforums.com is basically static HTML with a tiny payload, so it will feel snappy even on the weak host it currently resides on. It is /forum/phpBB3/index.php that is doing heavy dynamic work, querying large tables, building forum trees, computing online stats and pulling “last post” metadata for dozens of sections, which will expose any I/O or CPU bottleneck immediately.

On oversold shared hosting such as site5.com where the forum sits now, this kind of workload often hits CPU/process limits, leading to long TTFB and occasional 503/“Service Unavailable” responses when the PHP handler pool is exhausted.

A simple thing like sticking the domain behind Cloudflare would solve a lot of the issues. Why whoever owns it now has not done that I don't know 🤔

It's a shame to let such a great archive die like that. I would have happily hosted the forum, but that ship has obviously sailed.
