My question here is? When you load a songbook number and the style starts on Variation 3. Does the increment value go as variable 3,4,1,2 ?

I have been without an ec5 for many years. I would suggest mvav chocolate. It has four buttons, you can program short press 4 variations, long press for other assignable as needed. 8 total compact functions.

Hello
here is an example of the configuration of a user with the EC5 MIDI Switch Controller project box on the PA5X

Button A = Start/Stop Player 1
Button B = Fill 2
Button C = Fill 3
Button D = Varation Up "Assign.1"
Button E = Double On/Off "Assign.2"

We developed the EC5 MIDI Switch Controller project box after extensive research on the net
with the result that we offer Korg users of the Pa 700 / Pa1000 / PA5X the project box as an alternative adapter.

Who still has a
Korg EC5 multifunction pedal
can use all functions on the PA5X or Pa1000 with the project box without modification
Requires 1x MIDI cable, 2 x mono jack cables 6.3 mm and 1x power supply 9-12 V

The EC5 MIDI Controller Editor software is required to make your own settings for the MIDI program change
functions as described in the manual ( by email )

Korg will probably respond at some point and develop a modified pedal.

Our adapter project box is a pilot project intended as a small "helper" for Korg PA700 / PA1000 / PA5X
nothing more. The material costs are disproportionate to the sales revenue
Our goal is
to support the Korg PA5X user because you can always use pedal functions.
On the net there are thousands of DIY projects pedal controllers in cigar boxes, cans or DIY housings

Youtubers show the well-known top dogs successful companies for many years in the market but they cook
EC5 MIDI switch controller only with water.
Quote: it does not work on the PA5X via MIDI e.g. Variation Up or Harmony On / Off or ????? We know how to do it

I hope that the translation German English
is understood by all .
Thank you very much I look forward to your questions

Hello,

I got a Korg EC5 for my Korg Pa5x but it's doesn't work. So I looked at the forum and there was an information about a '' Box Project '' to make the EC5 work. So I order the '' BOX PROJECT '' and after a setting I can tell that's a success ! This EC5 has 5 buttons '' A - B- C- D- E '' and I set '' A- B- C- for Fill 1, Fill 2, Fill 3 '' AND for '' D and E, I set D for MIC on/off and E for Harmony '' Thanks KARL for this Invention.

Hello Michel
I'm glad you're finally able to use the EC5 MIDI Switch Controller project box
in conjunction with the Korg EC5 multifunction pedal and the PA5X. Good luck and enjoy!
We'll stay in touch.
Soon 'll configure the A, B, and C buttons with you according to your needs.

Best regards, Karl

Hello,
A few months ago, I introduced the small EC5 MIDI Switch Box for the Korg EC5 multifunction pedal here in the forum. It acts as an adapter between the EC5 pedal and the PA5X or PA1000, triggering standard MIDI functions (see the manual "Controlling the Styles of Songs via MIDI"). Buttons A through E transmit the program numbers configured in our software editor gui.exe.

The EC5 pedal does not require any modification; all buttons are available.
Although buttons D and E must be electrically isolated. The EC5 MIDI Switch Box contains two audio jacks for connecting Assign Pedals 1 and 2 on the PA5X.

IMPORTANT INFO: We have redesigned the EC5 MIDI Switch Box.

1) The EC5 MIDI Switch Box can now be powered via USB Type C, e.g., from the PA5X USB port.

2) The gui.exe software editor does not need to be installed.
Start double-click on the gui.exe (no matter where the program file is located)

3) If jack sockets D and E are not used, buttons A to E are assigned to MIDI program numbers.

4) If jack socket E is used, buttons A to D are assigned to MIDI program numbers.

5) If jack sockets D and E are used, buttons A to C are assigned to MIDI program numbers.

The configuration remains in the EC5 MIDI Switch Box, of course.
The D and E buttons can be changed at any time, even in a live session.

6) Example of a PA5X user

A = Start / Stop Player 1
B = Fill 2
C = Fill 3
D = Variation Up / Assign 1
E = Double On/Off Assign 2

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the colleagues who had the confidence to buy the EC5 MIDI Switch Box, despite very long delivery times and start-up problems as well as my shoulder operation and thus limited mobility.
and therefore limited mobility
we have maintained very friendly contact.

I hereby offer an EC5 MIDI Switch Box free of charge including
shipping for the PA5X or PA1000 for testing.

Translated
I hope everything is OK.
Regards

This is misleading as it does not replace the EC5. The Korg EC5 pedal could be configured to control functions similar to the assignment switches but there are several functions which your pedal will not control - like VAR-UP/VAR-DOWN - there is no MIDI information for these (and others) and so can ONLY be assigned to switches on the PA5x - it is misleading to name your device to include the term "EC5".
