yes, it is Upper 1

Global ---> Midi In Channels ---> Set channel 1 to 'Upper 1

That's exactly how I'm doing it here...except I'm using a different DAW.

You might want to check the program change events in your midi track. It could be that somehow a different program change is inserted and it's forcing the keyboard to playback the wrong sound.

1- What Mode are you using in Pa4X (ex; Style Mode, Sequencer Mode...)?
2- How your Midi In and Midi Out 16 channels are setup in Pa4X?

If I'm just playing I leave the keyboard in Style play mode and make the change to Midi-In Global.

For creating styles, I put the keyboard in sequencer mode, because it's more convenient to access channels 9-16. I insert the program change info in my midi track so at some point, none of this matters. Regardless of the global midi in channel, the Pa4x responds to the program change event and plays back the proper voice.

Also I don't use channels 1-8 for style tracks...because eventually you'll have to re-channel them to 9-16 anyways, so might as well get it right in the first place. This way once the arrangement is done, you don't have to worry about midi channels.

Here is what I did on Cubase:
I basically, Open Cubase- Device-Midi Manager-Import Setup to import the Korg Pa4X xlm file to Cubase.
Exit Midi Devive window...
-Add Midi Track-All Midi Inputs -Selected Korg Pa4X Sounds
-Output Routing - Selected Korg Pa4X
-Channel selected 1
Go back to my Korg Pa4X- Selected an Italian Piano and start to record. Fisnished the Record and hit playback and the midi play as a mess, not what I expected.

ok that's a totally different approach then i explained to you, you did nothing i suggested to do to get you starting.

So what you are saying is that you tried something different that doesn't work.

ok your method:

- import the pa4x xml file in cubase in a midi device.
- BE SURE THAT YOU SELECT Pa4x SOUND as the midi output in that midi device script.
- then create a midi track in cubase
- at midi out select your pa4x midi device
- then in the dropdownlist below that midi out you can select a sound from the pa4x.

So it will never work if you select a sound on the pa4x if you use a midi device script, it will always send a program file change to your pa4x so it will never sound the same.

So you have to use the dropdownlist with the named presets from the xml file (that is incomplete by the way, since the italian piano isn't in that script, you need to add that yourself)

Yes, sir that's what I did..I did exactly like that Video but it is only work on my PC, But does not work on my Macbook. that's weir... I run cubase on Macbook as well, tried to do the same process but it does not work...I installed Korg Driver for Mac...but i did not see that midi driver anywhere,Mac is totally different from PC.
