Without the LED, you could THINK your [Insert Item Here] has been saved and turn off your Kronos while it's still writing. The LED is to help you know that it's still writing. I'd rather have more notifications than less.

why adding a "are you sure you want to shut down? System is busy savinf your data!" message which will kick in just once or twice a month, only when needed,

when you can have a permanent flipping alert in your eyes? With no explanation whatsoever?

Intriguing! Good idea - the parrot could also be used for clag nut removal (hooked beak for precision/talons for grip)

ok, so the kronos is a computer with no software shut down command, BUT with possible consequences of a hardware shutdown.

If a system can be damaged by a power off, have it shut down by a software command which will protect the data,

not ny a power-off button which requires visual alerts.

Everybody's talking about the fact that the kronos is a computer. It could adopt solutions which have been installed on computers for 20 years now.

Or was it too difficult to implement a "safety shut down", in a OS which includes fancy images and animations for everything and takes 3 minutes to load?

Makes sense to me to have a software shutdown, say from the touchscreen. Then if that hangs for some reason you can still power off the switch. Just like computers. Sure some people won't listen and will just power off the switch, but that's no worse than a computer. So I wonder if that was considered.

On a desktop computer I still like to see a hard disk light because it gives me an idea what's going on with the software if things start to take a long time. But usually the light's not right in your field of vision while you're working. But like everything else, I reserve complaints until I actually see a Kronos. Maybe these things aren't actually as objectionable as one might think.

Seems like the LED is not a bad idea or different than most are used to seeing. Doesn't your little thumb drive have a flashing light telling you not to remove it while data is being written? Don't your PS3 games each have some kind of flashing icon telling you not to turn off the device while storing data? This seems like the same thing.

I certainly understand the point that a shutdown warning could be cool, but how many times has your computer told you that it was apparently shut down incorrectly? Even with the warnings that our computers give us, we seem to be able to shut them down improperly anyway.

Perhaps as with all important data, backups are important.

While it would be nice, oz-man, to have such a feature, so far I'm only aware of it being available on PCs. My USB flash drives must not be as special as yours, because mine doesn't warn me about squat.

In fact, I love the damn things! The guy above was complaining about LEDs, so I posted a few pics to showcase that Kronos isn't really bad concerning those.

If you play your arpeggios by hand, and too fast, you get flashed by the inbuilt radar camera.
