Space on Earth
https://soundcloud.com/user-898236994/space-on-earth
here's my upbeat instrumental with a funky groove.
Its based on a 12 string guitar part/theme, and I embellished with a string program , an EP and synth sound.
Its fun to use guitar as the foundation. My " Save Your Pennies " also had guitar as the starting point.
Hope you like Space on Earth
Thanks !

As with any tribute band (or brand) you have to build it around something special. In our case, it's our vocalist. He's got something very unique happening and we are just trying to give him a decent layer of gravy to sing over. =)

I noticed ! I have followed Steve Perry for some years. Your vocalist conveys the emotion and range which is special.Arizona Sage wrote:As with any tribute band (or brand) you have to build it around something special. In our case, it's our vocalist. I replayed parts, gave a tighter hip hop beat with a touch of Miles Davis.
I think you will hear a diff

Hi Greg,
I've listen to your song, on a good PA system, as to hear all the tonal range.
I've found it's a good mix and a good song. As I've already told before, your compositions cood easily suit to movies or documentary films.
If there were only one thing I would notice, it is the handclap sounds. I like it less than others sounds. I wondered what would be the result with close soft brush snare hits. Of course, it's a question of taste, I don't affirm I'm right !!

Hi Fred, I agree. The hand claps were from an 808 kit.Liviou2004 wrote:Hi Greg,

In a way hand claps, when over used sound cliche, possibly. I swapped out that kit with a Drum n Bass kit. A jazz brush kit didn't quite fit.
I created an updated recording and the new result can be heard on my SoundCloud, above link.
Its great you are enjoying my instrumentals.
Its cool you are listening on a PA or larger system. Thats the intent of my
songs- to be played loud and full, capture all the parts I put in.
I am getting good recording results just using the SEQ. It is very capable IMO. I spend lots of time getting the mix correct, tweaking etc etc.
I think my material is decent back ground music for a store, coffee shop, etc.
My SoundCloud tells me when a party or possibly a small business is streaming 30 tracks. I am flattered that they are hitching a ride.
