Pa5X v1.4.0 – A Game-Changing Update for Live Performance Stability

Post by Armendsh93 »

Since version 1.4.0 came out, I’ve been extremely happy. I’ve had the Pa5X for 2 years now, and I work around 100 nights a year – weddings, birthdays, private parties.

This is the only update that I can honestly say, 100%, gives me peace of mind that the synth won’t freeze or stop in the middle of a performance.

Keep in mind, I don’t use the synth like most people do – just loading a factory style and playing. I use entirely custom rhythms made from external samples, not the built-in ones. And I switch very quickly between time signatures – from 4/4 to 9/8, to 7/8, to 12/8. That kind of usage is a real issue if the software isn’t stable, because it can crash.
But with this update, that problem is gone. Another major issue – rhythm sync – is also finally fixed. In version 1.3.1 and earlier, whenever I’d switch rhythms, they would often go out of sync. Not every time, but in a typical night where I play music for about 7 hours, it would happen 5 to 10 times. That was a serious problem.

So far, I’m very satisfied. There are still some issues, but the major ones – the ones that matter for playing a full gig at night – are now stable, and for me, that’s enough for now.
