Korg Prophecy Progenie Editor Problem

Post by Z1Muso »

Hi. I've noticed when using the Progenie editor for the Korg Prophecy, the software when starting up always resets the Global Tune to 431.8 khz. I've tracked the problem down to the Progenie software rather than being a problem with the hardware. Please could someone confirm this behaviour and post a solution if one is available. The only solution I can think of is to start the editor and then set the Global tune to 440.0 khz but this is far from perfect. Regards Z1Muso.

Hi peeps. Resetting the Master Tune to 440.0 hz after Progenie has changed it to 431.8 hz can be quite tricky using the Prophecy's control knob so here is a better way of achieving the same result. Using SendSX is ideal for this little task so fire it up and add the following string into it's midi out window:

F0 42 30 41 41 00 01 00 00 00 F7

From the SendSX "File" menu item choose "Save MIDI Out As..." and save the file as a .Syx file, somewhere convenient. Next make a shortcut link on your desktop to the file you have just saved. Now when you double click on the shortcut, SendSX will open the .syx file and all you have to do then is press "Send" and the Master Tune will be reset to 440.0 hz. Simples.

Hi there. Have found a couple more bugs in Progenie 1.75.

1.The Prophecy needs to be in "Performance Mode" and not "Edit Mode" for the "Current Patch" +/- controls to sync/work in Progenie. Make sure the Prophecy Global parameter GLB-15 SysEX Filter>Transmit is set to "On" and the "PE Define" button is set to "Off".

2. When Progenie is being used the Prophecy won't accept Bank B switching in "Performance Mode", it simply reverts to bank A. I can't find a solution to this other than load Bank B into Bank A, perform the editing etc and then save Bank A back to Bank B. Regards Z1Muso
