microKorg XL patch

Post by Karma180 »

Hi, The Cure have an 80s song called In Your House ... at the start of the verses there is a whooshing sort of sound. Can anyone help me program that sound or where I can find a similar sound fx like that?

Thanks,

Hi,
It is not easy to nail it down. Here is my trial:
* noise oscillator
* bandpass filter, cutoff at 0, resonance at 127, EG int at 40
* EG1 (filter): attack 0, decay 105
* Virtual patch: EG1 to filter resonance with intensity to -52.
* EG2 (amp): attack 31, decay 121
* Auto panning delay and chorus effect.

The idea is that at a key hit, the cutoff goes from high to low, while resonance moves from low to high.

I'm not entirely happy with it, but it sounds reasonable.

Have fun!
