In loving memory of...

Post by UCanDream »

This is a song that started off as any other...Then one day, my daughter's grandmother passed away so I ended up dedicating this song to her. My son-in-law (Justin) did the drums. We had a deadline to get the music finished as it was going to accompany a slide show, so it was a little rushed. Therefore, I intend to redo some parts of the song in coming weeks but this is the basic version. Tracks were recorded on the Oasys 88 and into Presonus Studio One. Guitars, strings and some other parts were recorded from my Yamaha XS7 and the KronosX 73. It's called, 'Never Forget.'

Sorry for your loss. Very pretty and a nice tribute.

For me, I've been very busy digging deep into my Kronos and also new to Pro Tools. I converted from Cubase 6 to Pro Tools 9.

Just added eight short clips this weekend, they are excerpts from a little warm-up of progressive era pieces. The Kronos is IMHO the most inspiring keyboard ever, brings lots of fun every time. :)

So here it goes, for anyone who is interested in listening to a long (20 minutes plus) orchestral movie track created with 100% Kronos sounds.
It's called "Journeys of Marco Polo" and is loosely inspired by this historic traveler from Venice that went from Europe to the far East around the 1300's.
The song was recorded with Reaper DAW using USB MIDI only. The sound itself was recorded on the Kronos.
I've bought my Kronos 1 in 2012 and I never cared for expanding it with external orchestral sound libraries, although I'm sure they are great to have.
I used only a single Combination for this track: INT-A011 Orchestra & Timpani, I'm sure that most of you are familiar with it.
I just added two Drumkits and an occasional Sitar and Marimba for some ethnic colors.

Here's the link, for KorgForums.
I did not publish it publicly yet, maybe I will someday.

Enjoy! :D
