Array/pole Speaker system
Is anyone using a speaker system like the Bose L1 or JBL PRX One with their arranger? I'm currently using 15" powered speakers and am looking to downsize my working system.
THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL!!!
Had in the past: PA50, PA1X, PA2X. Currently PA3X, PA4X

I use only one Electro-Voice Evolve 30M and it comes with an App mixer.
I use it regularly for live gigs and control its mixer with my iPad (for Pa4X and my singer vocal).
Excellent sound quality for both my Pa4x and vocal.
Excellent base.
Lightweight.
Fast setup during the gigs.
Maximum SPL: 123 dB

Bose L1 Model 2
I've used the Bose L1 with 2 subs for 9 years. It sounds great and has been a road dog for me. I initially was worried how it would hold up but it has done exemplary. The sound is excellent for small to mid size venues - up to 300 people I would say.
I am interested in the EV Evolve 30M or 50M. They appear to be a little more portable and I've wanted a back up to Bose for a long time.
Only issue I have w the Bose is feedback on vocal mic from time to time.
Depends on the mic and I can usually get it under control with the Bose mixer.
The Pa4x sounds fantastic through the Bose. I tend to only have bass and drum parts that I play live keyboard sounds with. To me adding more parts takes away the realistic sound I want to have.

Ditto.
My Bose L1 M2 is fantastic. Agree with comment about mic being a bit finicky with feedback when using the Bose as designed behind player, but I haven’t spent much time tweaking the mic settings so probably my own fault.

Been considering the EV 30M (or similar) ....
... does one really need two of these (stereo) - would love your comments

Hi Pete. I thought about adding a second Bose to our setup, but decided against the idea. Apart from the extra lugging about of more gear (the reason for going with the Bose in the first place), I like the idea of stereo ouput but the advantages in your average gig situation are fairly limited, I think.
It'd sound brilliant in a 'sweet spot', probably about ten feet from the stage, but the sheer equality of dispersion of these units kind of negates the need for two of them over the whole area of the venue. Be well, mate.

When I nod my head . . . Hit it!

I bought Ld Maui11G2 considering sound quality, low budget and easy to carry around .
124db is ok, but i would love to try dB Technologies es1203 or ES1002 models ,which give 132 and 130db ,still heavier than Ld.
Ld is also the most good looking set in my opinion ,so it's hard to choose.
Boss on other hand sounds wonderful but not enough power,Yamaha stage pass the same....
JBL too many app' s bugs, not recommended .
RCF powerfull but sound not so good.
Turbosound iP1000 V2 and Hk audio are fine too ,still prefer LD though.
Ev50 would be my second prefered choice, but i found DB Technologies es series more powerdul and cheaper ,yet sound great.

For what I am doing, one EV 30 M is enough for indoor gigs, up to 30-40 persons, with a Pa4X and one singer.
Honestly I didn't notice any stereo issue with it.
I would hope to have a second one (just for having more power for the crowded gigs) and using in daisy chain system, but I don't have enough room in my car for two of them.
You can control its mixer by its APP thru a mobile device (iPad, iPhone, etc), you can inset two Effects in each channel. Very reliable App, i use it about 3 years, never had any problem, no bug.
Beside that it has Bluetooth system.
If the weight is not your concern, I would recommend the Evolve 50.
I had Bose L1 Model II System, very good sound quality but not enough punchy, weak in the
mid range frequencies. I sold it after 2 gigs.
I heard also good feedback about Maui from some DJ but not personal experiences.
Hope that helps.
