Hold the Glissando

Post by DaManInDaHouse »

(Pa700) In the DNC sounds, with the assignable switches, how can I hold the glissando (either number 1 or number 2) so it stays on for multiple keys, as opposed to it applying to only the next key I play that disappearing?

Thanks!

Its possible but I'm not sure how comfortable you are with sound editing.
You would need to create a new sound in sound mode by copying across the oscillators used in creating the glissando sound to the new sound and then change the oscillator trigger from Sound Controller 1 to Normal.
You will find the parts you need to copy and change under the Osc Basic Tab.
It may be that the glissando is being triggered by legato playing. In this case change the trigger from legato to say Sound Controller 1 or Normal or whatever works best for you.

In Sound Mode:
Menu->Basic->Sound : SC1 and/or SC2 = Toggle (and not Booking).
Then Save the Sound, with a new name, in User Memory.

There are very few living legends in this day and age.

You, sir, are one of them.

Is it the same for portamento? can I assign a switch to trigger portamento on and off? I wish KORG would incorporate in the menu.

Portamento will be switched on or off when a CC#65 (Portamento SW) message is received.

You can edit the main Sounds parameters that will be saved in tracks of a Sound set, and not be part of the internal parameters of the Sounds.

Or you can program portamento of one sound in Sound Edit mode (page 426 manual) and use checkbox to activate on/off portamento effect for that sound, otherweise portamento will also be switched via Midi message (CC#65)
kind regards
