Add additional sound libraries on a 2nd SSD? What size?

Post by KronosEnthusiastXT »

Hi, I’m planning to buy more sound libraries from the Korg shop and synthcloud website featuring Dream Theater Jordan Rudess sounds and others. I want to leave the original boot drive as it is and get a 2nd SSD but not sure how much storage I need. Is there a limit with the Kronos? should I upgrade the boot drive as well or is the boot up speed no difference? Do I need more Ram as well?

Any advice would be great 😊

which model/year is your K ?

I also added a 2nd SSD, 120 GB , and left the factory SSD intact as the boot drive.

Adding a 2nd SSD is simpler IMO.

For my purpose, 120 GB is more than adequate for 3rd party samples growth.

To be sure, you could do the math if you believe you are going to buy 20 or more sample Libs.

I am not up to date on SSD cost. If a 250 GB is $20 more than the 120 GB, you could easily justify that slight expense.

You are set with Ram. All K2's are maxed out with 4 GB ram, from the factory
