What could I be doing wrong?
Noob mistake, I’m sure.
I took a combi I had already made, recorded a simple pattern with one sound to play during the song the combi is used in. Then, I added the song to my set list. All good...sequence plays as it should. I save set list and power off. Turn back on and the sequence/song are back the defaults I started with when I go to either set list or the combi....
What did I miss?
I’ve recreated the sequence, but looking for help before I power off again. Thanks in advance!
Song - sequence saved in set list gone after power down/up?!

Songs or Song files created in SEQ mode do not autoload. Even if you add it to "set list'.Zippydog wrote:What could I be doing wrong?

The K does not "know " to load the Song file. It is not part of the startup auto load process which takes under 2 minutes.
You still have to load the Song file manually from Disk/SSD.
Thank you GregC. I just took a break to read up on this and now better understand. I’ve got plenty of space on the K HDD so will save the song there and then load it after startup.
Bummer that songs can’t be made to auto load as can be done with Sample files...I’ve found auto load to be helpful for that.

I agree. I have 40 original songs from the SEQ. it would be nice to auto load them at start up. I don't believe Korg will make this enhancement given the age of the product/software.Zippydog wrote:Thank you GregC. I just took a break to read up on this and now better understand. On the other hand , you can group many songs together as 1 SEQ file. And when you manually load the SEQ file, you should be set and have them to use in your set list.
There are some folks that have solid experience doing this- maybe they will post some good ideas.

This is tricky stuff. I think it takes hand on a few times before one gets comfortable.Zippydog wrote:Thanks again, got it right the second time! Amazing how much faster than the first time.
I find the SEQ to be rewarding and the work flow , for creating songs, works for me.
Keep at it and have a great time. Sometime today, I am posting my 41st original song " Heart of Steel" . A banging rock techno instrumental, 100% Kronos. I am currently tweaking the mix. 100% Kronos and the SEQ
