2018 - KRONOS OS - Requested New Features.
I hope that Korg would seriously listen to this request.
I would like to request the following features to be added to the next release of the KRONOS OS (I am hoping that Korg take this into their considerations and continue to release software updates for the KRONOS).
Those features will improve the Live mode of the Kronos and make it more of a practical instrument for live musicians, as well as in the studio.
The competitors are offering very easy access to those features on their top of the line synths, and I don't really see a reason for the KRONOS to not to have them in an efficient and easy access way.
As people say: One image is worth of 10,000 words; I am going to post a few images that clearly indicate the requested features.
The newly requested features are having yellow arrow pointers pointing to them, and to their location in the displayed OS mode.
I am displaying them from the Set List mode, and I would like to request the following to be considers as well:
I would like for the 4 requested features, displayed at the top portion of the screen, to be added to the following modes (including the top right hand corner drop down menu for each mode):
Set List mode.
Program Mode.
Combi Mode.
I will stop writing at this point and let the images do the talking.
Please let me know if you would like for me explain anything further in writing.
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

By the way, the fact that you're interested to see what the images are makes me optimistic that maybe indeed there's an update coming....or maybe not

In my opinion it is highly unlikely that Korg would produce a new update.
It's been nearly one year and a half since we got one. I think it's too late now.
More likely, I would think about a new workstation coming next. After 7 years, we can suppose the Kronos coming soon to its commercial end of life. Not a musical one, of course : as for the Oasis, many musicians (like me !!) will keep playing on Kronos for a longtime.

Yes, but when I tried them, they were blank. Seem to be working now.tdwctdwc wrote:He posted the images in the 3rd post above:)StephenKay wrote:Images don't load, so no comment can be made on your ideas.

I'm interested in all sorts of things related to keyboards, this site, and KARMA. Don't draw any conclusions.

Great, Contribution, let's hope Korg takes it into accountnightplayer wrote:The following is the URL links for the images:

Glad to see that some of you are interested in a KRONOS OS update.
Glad also to receive a response from Mr. Kay regarding this topic.
I would like to take advantage of Mr. Kay's interest in this topic and would like to ask him if we should expect a new generation of KARMA for the next KRONOS OS update (I am just hoping that there will one) that involves KARMA Drum Fills, as what we saw with the OpenLabs KARMA integration, many years back (2008/2009 I believe).
As we all know, the KRONOS has the advantage of having the integrated KARMA hardware controls built into the system. It would make perfect sense to take a full advantage of this integration, and release a new version of KARMA built in to the KRONOS OS that supports drum fills.
The following youtube video shows the KARMA drum-fill feature as part of the KARMA integration with OpenLabs Neko Gen 5 workstation.
By the way; very nice and impresssive demo as always, Mr. Kay.
I am following your KARMA Demos since the days of the OASYS and M3.

Also, another crucial feature that I would love to see in the KRONOS is:
The ability to send 16-Stereo/32-Mono Digital Audio Channels via USB to the computer from both: the Sequencer and Combi Modes.
Yamaha already did it with their Montage Performance Synth, I think it is time for the the KRONOS to have this crucial feature added in order to best suit the Studio integration purposes.
I am just hoping that the USB B-Type hardware chip that is used in all KRONOS generations, is not going to become more of a hardware limitation factor, when it comes to developing/implementing such a feature.
I just hope that developing/implementing such a feature, stays within the software domain and does not require having a special type of a USB B-type chip onboard on the hardware level, which will lead to discarding it.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I LOVE your suggestions. Especially the additions/modifications to the set list page. But as I use the scales feature all the time, all of your suggestions would be most welcome and appreciated.nightplayer wrote:The following is the URL links for the images:
