What is involved in sending chromatic CC43 to Sample?

Post by chimp_spanner »

Hey guys! As in the subject, I'm looking to create a patch in my DAW (Reason 9) to control the Sample chromatically. The closest I can get is some kind of weird microtonal thing where 5 semis on my keyboard is roughly equal to a whole tone on the sample. I know some people have made patches in Max, and also that there are hardware solutions but I'm curious to know what the "formula" is for scaling MIDI notes to CC in a way that the sample will accept. Thanks in advance for any help!

as i understand it you need to stick to these cc values for cc43... no clue why the hell they did it this way!

0, 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 16, 19, 21, 24, 26, 29,
32, 34, 37, 40, 42, 45, 48, 50, 53, 56, 58, 61,
64, 66, 69, 71, 74, 77, 79, 82, 85, 87, 90, 93,
95, 98, 101,103,106,108,111,114,116,119,122,124,
127

no clue why they didnt allow you to switch patterns with midi too, as this could produce some nice tricks
