About karma
Can anybody please help me if there is a way to program your own run on a karma module? The Kronos is quite a monster....all inputs greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance:-)
RPPR (Real-time Pattern Play/Record) allows patterns of any type to be recorded and assigned to individual keys and is an often usable alternative to an arpeggiator.
Within Karma, under GE Select (GE = generated effect) it is possible to select various arpeggiator types, though user-specific arpeggios arent possible, if memory serves me right. I may be wrong, though.

If you want Karma to do your own specific melodic runs, you need to create your own GEs (generated effect). To do that you need the Karma software - it's like 200 USD and is available from the karma-lab site: http://www.karma-lab.com/karmasoft/kk/kk_main.html.
But as previous poster indicated, RPPR will get you a long way without having to purchase the additional Karma software!

Give it a try! It's real simple: you assign midi patterns to dedicated keys. You can have the Kronos transpose to different keys (you don't have to re-record the pattern). You have latch these things (or not) and you can quantize them to beat or measure. Your patterns can be multi-timbral too (you're not limited to 1 midi channel, so you can have chords, melodic lines, drum beat etc all assigned to 1 key). Let us know how it goes!
