Question about LeadSynth noises and split feature?

Post by Mason2015 »

Is there a way for me to play different notes simultaneously on the keyboard while using the LEAD SYNTH instruments (category 11)? Whenever i play multiple notes with any of the instruments in this category, the note that I play first stops after I press another key (even if I am holding two keys down). Is there a way to turn off this setting for Synth instruments?

Also, does the Krome have a split keyboard feature? Can I be playing one instrument on the higher part of the keyboard and another on the lower part of the keyboard at the same time?

Thanks!

Yes and yes.

http://i.korg.com/uploads/Support/USA_K ... G_E(4).pdf

1. Page 32 of this manual shows you how to change from "mono" to "poly", which will allow you to play more than one synth tone simultaneously.

2. Page 48 shows you how to create a keyboard split within a Combi.

Edit: For some reason that hyperlink is being a pain in the behind but if you copy and paste the whole thing including the (4).pdf bit into your browser it will work.

Not only can you split the keyboard and play 2 sounds, you can actually have up to 16 different sounds across the board in different zones. Each can be transposed and panned L & R, so if you want you can have a huge 7 note chord (for example) triggered by one single note or anything you want! Combi's are fantastic!
