MS-20 Frankenstein percussive laser sample and hold patch?

Post by Jawbone »

I assume somebody somewhere has done the percussive laser patch from the Edgar Winter song Frankenstein, on the MS-20. Originally it was done on the Arp 2600, but Im thinking I can get close with the MS-20 mini. If so, can you please share it? :D

Frankenstein ARP 2600

Post by Jawbone »

I have come up with two versions of a patch for the laser sound effect in the song Frankenstein by Edgar Winter, originally played on the ARP 2600. The first version was what I came up with for my MS-20 mini. Start with LP frequency at about 6 and slowly sweep down to zero. The speed is set by EG 1 Attack. Remove patch cable White noise to Trig in if you dont want it to play continuously. http://20patch.constructingtowers.com/p ... er=jawbone

The above version did not sound at all right on my iMS-20, so here is another try at it. http://20patch.constructingtowers.com/p ... er=jawbone

One thing that made the sound on the 2600 was the spring reverb. So you will want to add some reverb to your MS-20 patch.

Any suggestions are appreciated :D
