I use an ipad for sample trimming etc, then it's the old fashioned way for me, sampling via the ESX-1's audio in. The Auto Sampling feature makes it fairly painless, if anything needs to be trimmed to an exact length then I read off the sample length from the ipad and start spinning that wheel. The real pain in the a**e is renaming them.thesigma wrote:No problem. I avoid using the computer for music making as much as possible, but recording/editing audio and sample editing is much easier on the computer. While composing I can leave the pic off if I like, and I usually do.
That said I tend to gather up samples I think will work together, edit them as needed, and load them into the ESX file with oee. I think of the prep tasks and actually making music as two separate processes. Heck, if you don't ever use a computer, you'd have to sample everything through the audio inputs, and trim on the box. I did just that for a while on my es1. Works, but not fun.

If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.
Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

What app are you using? I was looking for iPad wave editors the other day, but didn't decide on one.apapdop wrote:

I use the DAW Auria for sample trimming, time stretching etc. it does it beautifully and has vertical zoom which is very handy. And its a powerful, easy to use DAW with great mixing facilities. Worth every penny in my book.thesigma wrote:What app are you using? I was looking for iPad wave editors the other day, but didn't decide on one.apapdop wrote:

The killer would be if there was some driver/app for ESX2 that can hook to iPad with the USB cable and push samples directly there. ... I would shell $500 for ES2 right-away.
These days you can move audio files on iPad between apps numerous ways. Use something like auria (there are many others) to prepare the sample and then shove it directly to ES2 without a computer.

Back to Musikmesse sampler videos, are there any German speakers that can glean anything useful from this rep?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVjvxGswdgs
I assume he gives specific PCM vs User sample info, details on the synth differences, and a firm release date.
Thanks Deutsch-Sprechers!

There is no new information. Someone fluent in German said that there was nothing new that we didn't already know. Just said how cool it was. There was no mention of a release date. Very uninformative.dschroeter wrote:Back to Musikmesse sampler videos, are there any German speakers that can glean anything useful from this rep?
