Renting in England?

I'm going to Europe on tour with one of my bands, starting the end of January in Liverpool.

I contacted a few backline companies in the UK today to find out how much it would cost to rent (among other things) a Kronos X 88 for 6 weeks and was astonished to find that it would only be a few hundred pounds cheaper than actually buying one there.

I'm seriously considering just that at this point, and then selling it again after the tour --- clearly would be cheaper than renting from them or from shipping my own from the US.

However, it occurred to me to check whether someone on these forums in the UK might know of a way to rent one more economically, perhaps also someone who's temporarily not using theirs?

Any ideas?
