Korg iMS20 midi controller with Alesis IO dock and ipad 2

Hi,

I have an iPad 2 with the korg ms20 synth app. I use the Alesis IO dock and am going to get the ms20 midi controller, does anyone know how this would work? like do you connect the controller to the alesis usb midi port? both ports are the same (square) so would a square to square usb cable work? or is there a way of routing the midi out from the controller through logic on my mac to the alesis IO 5 pin midi in.

im not sure if the korg ms20 midi controller has 5 pin midi in or out.
