2nd Keyboard and Harmony?

Post by allrics »

I use a 2nd keyboard a Hammond SK1 with my Pa3X. Is it possible to generate the TC Helicon harmony while playing the Hammond? If so, how do I do this? Thank you.

In concept, as long as the "notes"/"chords" etc are passing through the PA3X, I would imagine that it will work correctly.
(Note: I have never tried this)
I am assuming that you are wanting to play the Hammond which will MIDI-out to the PA3X?

Cheers

I'm not positive how this can work exactly with Hammond, but I use to do this with my Yamaha E423.
If you want use 2-nd keyboard both ways, in Hammond set in global Local on and Keyboard Out on, that's make your keyboard still play normal as instrument and sent midi notes via midi out to korg.
In Korg set in Global/Midi/midi in on channel which Hammond use to sent notes (mostly ch 01) what you want control.
If you want control your style chords progression set to global, if not set whatever you need to.
Check other setting in Midi section, in General make sure Korg reconize your Hammond, set clock Source to Internal, Clock send On if you want korg to be a Master clock (you will need set in Hammond to clock sync to external and use midi in port with 2-nd cable)
In Midi in control turn of Track Mute Active (if you want to play on Hammond Track which is muted on korg).

I never try this on Pa3x, I did on Pa600.... sorry if this won't work on Pa3x, I hoping it will.

I'm using a Korg M88 as a master to my 3x. The voice processor works great when I'm playing the master. When I raise or lower the transpose buttons on the 3x and continue to play on master, the harmonies are off...they don't sync with the master. If I play the 3x however, everything's fine. Question: Is there a setting I'm missing on the 3x to tell the master that the key was transposed so the harmonies will transpose also? This has been driving me nuts! What am I missing? :? :x
Thanks,

Try check in Global/Tuning/Transpose Control if Transpose Applies to Midi in Notes is turn on.... in your case must by On.

Hi Nemik. I tried that but that raises or lowers the keyboard pitch. I'm talking about the VP harmonies. For example, play in D major on 3x, raise transpose button up 2 half steps to E major. VP sounds raised when played on 3x. But switch to master(M88) the VP harmonies are still in D! Some how the 3x isn't telling the master about the key change. See what I mean?

I not to sure about, but Slave can't control master.
If you set as a Master Korg M88, Pa3x cannot get over Midi notes transpose.
Is any reason Korg M88 must be as Master?

Fairly good weighted keyboard. I gotta have that piano feel.
