LZ makes a lot of good points. One issues have is that I need a stand that I can use sitting and standing, hence the Ultimate Support I.Q. 3000. The thing that I don't like is that even though it has a mechanical memory system so that it always goes back to the exact same height, it doesn't have a secondary memory system although I don't think any stands out there do yet.
I also have an Apex stand and I'm thinking of using it for when I stand the Ultimate for when I stand.
In my wild world of fantasy I think I might like a rotating stand that also has an attachment for a mic and a holder for my iPad.
Don't tell my wife! She thinks I have enough already

Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!
Thanks! Yes I have seen that one and totally forgot about it. I guess I was just kind of wishing here. I just finished watching the new Dream Theater DVD and of course now I want a rotating stand!
I guess there's just no satisfying some of us!

Jasper Stands are excellent and made in Germany. I ordered 2 x 4 tier with extra tubing for my heavier 88 note keyboards. I'm in Australia and it took about a week for both stands to arrive all nicely packed up.
On one stand I have my Oasys 88 keyboard on the bottom tier, above that I have Kronos 88, above kronos is Novation Supernova 2 and right at the top I have V Synth GT to allow for use of the d beam.
On the other four tier stand which is juxtaposed at a 90 degree angle to the first stand, I have on the bottom tier Roland Jupiter 80, above that I have Voyager XL(the xl is a heavy beast), on top of the xl is Korg Z1 and at the top is John Bowen Solaris.
As I said I have extra tubing being 2 x horizontal tubes for each of the heavy keyboards, so there is a tube at the front of the keyboard and a tube at the back the resting arms run from front to back resting on the tube giving extra support and strength.

I remember seeing ads for those in keyboard magazine years ago!

just bought one of these...love it - I'm 6'4" and it's always been a problem to find a stand that goes up high enough...this is hydraulic up and down and rotates 360...looks great on stage too!
I just e-mailed them for a price. It looks like something that I might be interested in. I really like the idea of the hydraulic adjustment. How much would you say it weighs and how much does it collapse down to?

it weighs about 50 pounds and breaks down very easily...fortunately there's enough room on our truck that I keep it assembled, but even if I took it apart completely I couldn't see it taking more than 2-3 minutes to set up...I paid $299.00 (I got the 2 tier model) and that included the shipping to Pennsylvania U.S.A.)
current gear: korg kronos 61, korg kronos ll / 99 yamaha moxf8, korg x50...past gear: korg triton, korg tr61, korg triton le, korg poly 800 ll, roland fantom fa-76, roland fantom x6, alesis micron, roland jv-30, yamaha mm8, kawai kl ll, kawai k4
That look good. I just wish the bottom tier was able to tilt. I have to stoop way over the screen of the Kronos to see it. The quickstart guide mentions briefly on being able to adjust the viewing angle on the kronos display but I can't find that under global, just contrast/brightness and touch calibration.
Thanks DJ.
