I think it's funny how much critique the Kronos is getting on the UI part. All keyboards and modules really suffer from this and Kronos (to me) is one of the better ones. I don't think anybody prefers the Roland or Yamaha way of having something like 128 "user patches" and no real filing system. So in a sense I agree; all these UIs are way outdated and could use a major overhaul - but we expect a lot more from the Kronos because it has a big touch screen (iPad comparison) and it runs on Linux (PC comparison).

What's the point of talking about what the Kronos hasn't got. Maybe go on a forum that has the keyboard you do like and help each other. It serves little purpose saying, it hasn't got this and it's not as good as this and that. It's a KRONOS thread for Kronos users to help each other.
It's like going on a Dog forum and moaning that it doesn't meow.
The Kronos is the Kronos, no bitching on here will change what it is. It's just a keyboard. There are lots of others to choose from.

I think Korg needs some pressure to do new things and to not package old things in shiny new packages with the same outdated crap inside.
But if all are ready to buy the same old 1995 stuff again and again you will get it. Obviously most here are fanboys and don't like dissent. As you may have noticed I don't post very often here so why the strong words? I never attacked you personally just the points you or Korg made.
Have a good time.
Please understand that this forum is for people like you to hang out with fellow end users, make friends, share files, listen, learn, get help, have a laugh and chill out.
You are doing the complete opposite. You don't participate in the forum much with anyone in any meaningful way, and you do pretty much complain about KORG whenever you can. I'm not forgetting your history of getting into arguments with people over all this too.
Why on earth can you not simply go with the flow?
People have their off days and they vent from time to time, but they don't let it consume them like you have.
I much preferred the old Saxifraga.

The main reason for almost any hardware having not perfect UIs/OSs is that they are not mainstream OSs. If you can sell millions of them, the cost for development can be shared among those. If you sell 10,000 ... the cost for the OS/UI must be hundred times less.
I will not say a synth should have a bad UI or OS but you cannot expect a full fledged Windows/IOs/Android alike system on a niche market (considering it is not a common consumer product like a TV, telephone, laptop whatever).

My 2 cents.....
I've never seen one single iOS or Android program ever have anything even close to the depth a single sound engine in the KRONOS like AL-1 has.
Then consider the KRONOS has many sound engines, a full sampler, sequencer, HDR and many other modes.
Try writing a GUI that makes it easy to do everything the KRONOS can do and chances are you will probably end up with something not far off what we already have.

I agree, but not in the way your thinking about the Integra 7 at all.
The Integra 7 iPad app is only useful because of the Integra 7 design limitations. It's a 2U rack unit meant to be mounted into a rack. Which means your going to be reaching to access it. By design it will also have limited hardware controls being it's only a 2U rack with a very limited screen. None of which is a problem on the KRONOS.
From a programming point of view, the Integra is very basic compared to some of the sound engines inside the KRONOS. So the iPad is not exactly being used for anything even remotely complicated.
If KORG were to make something useful to run on the iPad it would have to be more in line with what Spectrasonics have done with Omnisphere in that it's more of an extension of the system than a replication of what you can already do from a PC.
