switch vibrato

Post by brandon »

hey guys i copied a patch setting from the manual for wheel controlled vibrato, which is cool but i would like to assign it to the momentary switch and use the wheel for pitch. when i simply changed the patch so that the switch is the source, i get vibrato normally and it stops when i press the switch. can't seem to reverse it as i don't really know what i'm doing that well.

any ideas would be great
thanks

Do this instead:

Momentary Swtich -> EG 1 Trig In
EG1 Out -> VCA Control ("Control Input")
Mod. Generator out -> VCA In
VCA Out -> Total

In the "Frequency Modulation" section just below the VCO Mixer, set the MG/T.EXT to 1 and the EG/EXT to 0.

In the Modulation Generator section, set both knobs to their middle position (aka 5, or 'noon').

Play your keyboard. Press the button.

Every time you press the momentary switch, its triggering EG1 which is controlling the amplitude of the VCA which has the LFO as it's input.. so not only do you have the effect you want (vibrato is only on while button is pressed) you can also fine tune the attack/release of it with the EG-1 controls.

Adjust the amount with the FM knob previously mentioned, and the freq. and waveform controls in the modulation generator.

hrmn.. if you do that you lose the ability to use your mod wheel to 'total'.

that is... unless you have a mixer or piggy back cable so you can assign 2 inputs to the total.

like one of these:

(or you could just use the freq mod knob directly instead of patching it to the m.wheel or m.switch)
