How to MIDI sync Electribe and Microkorg?
Hey everyone! I know there's a thread that talks about this but I'm having some trouble and need more specified assistance...
Anyway, I'm trying to sync my electribe to my friends microkorg and the problem is that when we do (midi out electribe to midi in microkorg) the electribe just ends up controlling everything on the microkorg instead of just syncing the tempos... Anyone know how to just sync the tempos?
Thanks!

you need to change the global midi settings on the electribe not to send midi messages. If you set them all to off, the electribe will still send midi clock to the MK, but without the notes/cc/program changes.
not sure which electribe you have, but this is definitely detailed in the manual in the chapters covering global mode.
now that you know what to do, should be a cinch. have fun!

Change the MIDI channel on the microKorg. Probably the easiest way.

If you only midi sync the tempo, then you may be missing out on one of the best ways to use the synth with the Electribe. With the EMX, you can use the arp touchstrip to make the synth play arpeggios that are kept in the key and scale that matches the pattern being played. Go to the global settings to reverse the function of the strip and the fader, so that the touchstrip controls the note and the fader controls the gate timing. The touchstrip is much better for controlling the note because you can pick the notes to play directly like a 1-axis Kaosspad. When the fader controls the note, then you have to go through every note in between. You can often filter midi from the synth side too, not just from the electribe sending side. Filter everything except note on/off. Using the touchstrip arp with synth programs is much fun.

Electribe / Microkorg MIDI synch question
I too have the electribe's arp and sequencer controlling the Microkorg. I also bring the MK audio back in thru the Electribes Comb audio so I can modulate the synth. (comes in with a little static, tho.)
The question I have is how to make the program on the microkorg automatically synch to the pattern number on the electribe, so when I change the pattern on the master electribe, the slave microkorg will select the appropriate program. It seems based on the manuals that this should be possible but I can not figure how to get the MK to keep the correct program/pattern sync. (Write protect turned off)
Any help would be amazing. Thanks guys.
