This is the second time I have played by SV-1 at church. And both times, I have received so many compliments on how good the piano sounds. the PIANO????? So all the haters on the Piano sound- maybe we should remember that our audience actually appreciates it (we are so critical as musicians). It was nice to hear that as it gives me confidence in the SV1 now when I play- not thinking about the sound quality and if it will cut through (or if it sustains enough).
I find the guitarists seems to gravitate towards it more as well. I get to talk about all the vintage emulations it does and they like it.

I love the piano sound. I just don't like how it interacts with the keyboard, somehow. I find it easy to play solo, difficult to play in a band. Anyway, I'm glad you and the folks at your church are happy. It's generally a great board.
I tried the SP280, and didn't like it as well. And if the SP280 piano has key off and damper noises, I sure couldn't hear them. I didn't take headphones, but I wouldn't plan to play it with headphones...
I may keep my eyes open for a used SP250.

Funny you mention the action. In watching some Korg SV-1 vids, there is mention that the action was pretty much a great compromise to complement the vintage instruments it was emulating. I haven't played most of the emulated instuments except for a rhodes and don't really know how that would compare. Ah well, still love my sexy red thang!
