what do you mean? this could very easily work for the Kronos... just export as a standard midi file and load it right up.Sharp wrote:lol... I wonder if they sell a KRONOS version.

oh yeah it's got internal midi too... so you can sequence and use sounds from other programs like sampletank, etc....Sharp wrote:I'm being cheeky as I find it rather funny.
People have been asking KORG for a Sequencer update for as long as I can remember, and here's Yamaha releasing one for under 10 bucks.

This looks great and I may get one. It supports Windows but does the Port Manager app also run on Windows or IOS only? It would be a shame if that's the only way to configure the interface.Ksynth wrote:http://www.iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI4plus
This is one of the best new ideas I've seen so far at NAMM 2013
If only it was for Windows as well.

Vintage Vibe has released the Vibanet; It's a new Clavinet (but they couldn't call it that).

Yamaha will sell this Sequencer in big quantities. It´s not comparable pricewise. I still think a Kronos update should cost nothing because of other considerations.
And they used the iOS/Cocoa frameworks which are lightyears ahead of Korg C/Linux code. (I assume here Kronos uses C. Maybe they even have a Triton emulator running on Kronos?

Too bad they didn't show a wavedrum drum kit this year.....One thing as a drummer I don't like about my v-drums is even though they've progressed leaps and bounds from their 80's counterparts, they still lack the playability of an acoustic drum....I think if they threw that technology into a drum kit, they would give V-Drum a run for their money....I'm sure they could do the drum part easy enough but not sure how they could do the cymbals....I don't like Zidljian's Gen16 idea....The cymbals are too pingy, even the crash sounds pingy....I bet the wavedrum part would be phenominal though.....moon

I tried to postpone it as long as possible, but with all the interesting apps around it looks like I'm going to have to consider getting an iPad.
Check out this upcoming app.

Will there be support for Android and other platforms? Our current Kickstarter budget covers only the development for iOS. Depending on the success of the app, and the demand for a version on other platforms, we may consider adding support

Ok, here's my contribution to the NAMM 2013 thread:
First, it looks like Korg's Kronos(x) still remains King in the workstation arena.
Second, it seems Roland is doing some serious cutbacks as they went from occupying the arena area (HUGE) the past few years, to just 2 rooms this year (a products room and a conference room). Last year, they had a stage with band and audience area just to demo their V-Accordion... this year, they had a solo woman sitting on a stool demoing their V-Accordion. Last year, they had Rico Loop in his own area demoing the RC-300 looper pedal (he attracted a huge crowd all day long), this year I don't recall seeing any looper pedals in their products room. For whatever reason, this doesn't sound too good.
Third, here's a video I put together - NAMM 2013 in pictures:
http://youtu.be/iizjKQrB2tI
Fourth, here's some excellent video footage that really tells it all in terms of what NAMM is all about - a real treat:
1 of 3: http://youtu.be/Ubep7WNXDgo
2 of 3: http://youtu.be/CZG1mpFPnGc
3 of 3: http://youtu.be/QJU5oBtFcLM
Lastly, the most fun thing was Arthur Hull's annual group drum circle which visitors of NAMM can take part in (I joined in and had the best time)! I put together 4 of those videos but I'm only going to post the best one here (professional hand drummers Leon & Jah Amen Mobley joined in on this one):

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting all of that Chuck!....I'll probably never get to go to NAMM so it's always nice to see it from someone elses eyes....There were a few interesting booths I would have liked to see.....The wood drums played with mallets looked interesting and was wondering what type of sound those would produce.....I couldn't decide if it was an instrument or a set of practise pads but it looked interesting.....They need more girls dressed like in comic con showing off the "wares"...LOL....Anyway, Thanks again for all the content.....I enjoyed it all.....moon
