The only software that directly supports Korg Kronos and Triton is Chicken Systems Translator www.chickensys.com. Awave supports Triton PCG's but the Kronos can't read Triton PCG's.
Doing two-step conversion (Giga->SF2, SF2->Kronos) is problematic. Additionally Translator sets Kronos things up for streaming whereas anything from SoudnFont has to to be setup for streaming by the user.
Translator has supported Triton and Korg for over 10 years now, available on Mac and Windows
I have the latest version of Translator on the Mac. I don't see a CONVERT TO KRONOS option when I right-click on a file. How do I go directly into Kronos format?
Thanks.
Busch.
Kronos 73, Nautilus 61, Vox Continental 73, Monologue, Yamaha Montage 8, Rhodes Suitcase, Yamaha VL-1, Roland V-Synth, Yamaha AvantGrand, Minimoog Model D, Studio Electronics Omega 8, CSS, Spitfire, VSL, LASS, Sample Modeling, Ivory, Komplete 12, Spectrasonics, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc. http://www.purgatorycreek.com
The common way of converting in Translator 6 is to either double-click on an item in the Object List, or select it and click the Translate button. I'll check the right-click menu for the Container Pane and make sure it's in there for Build 12.
The ->Kronos stuff is in beta, but that's just a saying. It works pretty well. We did catch a couple of bugs post-build 11, build 12 will be out tomorrow.
One thing that we are working on is converting into a existing PCG structure, which we think is important so you don't have to have all these PCG structures hanging all over the place.
We've converted a couple 700mb .gig files and they load into the Kronos really fast, takes about 5-10 seconds or so.
That sounds great. Do you guys have any plans to include (VST) autosampling anytime soon? I was blown away by ESC's ease of use and speed in porting sounds to the Kronos this way. Kronos native format would save even more time.
Yes; Translator 6.1; this month. The module is done, it's just going under testing. The limited version will be in Translator, the bigger version will be in Constructor. A larger extremely full-featured version (unlike any other autosampler) will be in a future product.
