VOLUME PEDAL

Post by JONLIBRA »

Hi again!

I´m looking for a volume pedal to use in Genesis music. Any advice about that? Do you know about the Behringer FCV 100?

Thanks!

Don't know that one specifically. But if you want to hook it up to the keyboard directly via the pedal input, I've had great experiences with the Yamaha FC7. Very sturdy and a very nice sweep (other than, say, Roland's alternatives).

I use that same pedal, great with the added "expression boost" if pressed further.

It's the same pedal (labeled Korg) that came with the CX-3 organ.

? BOSS FV-50H ?

Post by dbrosa »

Hi guys.
I'm embarrassed, but I just can't make a guitar volume pedal BOSS FV-50H work with my M50... I'm pretty sure that isn't that hard, but I could not figured out how to connect it to the synth and how to configure the synth to recognize it.
Any help and suggestion?
Tks in advance

Darn, if I had my M50 I would have guided you step by step. You must hook it to the "Assignable Pedal" input, not the other two. Then you got to get into the Global menu and look for the Polarity setting. Try both, since one should work.
Let us know if it worked.

There are some pedals that are incompatible, though, you must take that into account. I don't know if the BOSS is one of them.

WAIT, there is a video. Let me look for it.

Never mind. I thought there was a video covering that.

For what I see in the manual, you have to select a function for the Assignable Pedal option in Global Mode / Foot Controllers page. Just select Master Volume and see if it works. If not, check the pedal for a switch. I remember my M-Audio pedal had a compatibility or polarity switch in it. It worked in one position, but it didn't in the other.

tks mocando.
I've set the pedal @ global page and so, but it didn't work.
In fact the FV-50H has input 1 and 2, output 1 and 2 (where I suppose should be the right place to connect to M50) and a side jack names "tuner out".
I guess it works like this. A signal enters in the input 1 jack, for example, and inside the pedal this signal pass through a voltage divider and goes to the output 1 jack limited. I've already try to short-circuit the input jack, trying to have only a resistive signal @ output jack, but nothing, due to, probably, it's a voltage divider and not a simple potenciometer. (all of this I'm guessing, OK?!).
So, the questions persists: how to hook this guitar volume pedal to the M50?! :-)
Kind regards,

Then is not an expression pedal, but a volume pedal. It adjust the overall volume of the audio signal. I also had one like that. Just plug the main OUTS from the M50 to the INS of the pedal, and the OUT of the pedal to your PA system.
If you want stereo sound, you'll use both ins and outs. If you are using the LEFT/MONO only, you'll use only one input, and the other can be used for something else.
