right angled midi leads

Post by Ojustaboo »

Hi all, I have my M3M mounted almost vertically and want a couple of right angled midi leads.

I've seen loads, but they all appear to be the wrong way round, meaning the cable would go over the front of the m3m rather than down behind it.

For example,

If you look at it, the grove that needs to be at the top for the cable to go behind the m3m is at the bottom.

They all seem to be like this.

Anyone any suggestions please?

Thanks

Joe

Something like this ?

There's a screw on them you can open so that the pins can be rotated the way you need them.

There's a drawing and explanation here.

I'll keep looking to see if there's anything like them on this side of the pond.

Sharp.

I think you want this http://www.schneidersladen.de/en/maniki ... ightangled
Which is available here in Germany. The manufacturer of this is manikin if it helps you

If it is the wrong one then it is this http://www.thomann.de/de/pro_snake_midikabel_05.htm

EDIT: Wow, Sharp was faster searching! Sharps alternative seems very good for you.

Are you sure the one you linked to is not what you need ?

Every photo I've just looked at online has the Pins one way on one end, and reversed on the other.

So with the cable you linked to in the UK, chances are it's the other end you connect to your M3.

I'd Give studio spares a call and ask them about that product you've linked to.

it might be just a generic illustration as I bought right angled midi leads from them several years back(Back in the days of ordering from the catalogue)they certainly sold the ones your need back then.

So its likely they sell both types of lead, although most equipment tends to have the sockets universally mounted I've had midi gear with the sockets fitted to the gear rotated 180 degrees the other way so those cables maybe for that purpose which would still make them the correct way round for the pictured Lead so good chance they sell two types.

It's like a USB connection, there is no standard for what's on top, and mfg's simply do it their own way.

I've been able to purchase connector with pins on top or bottom, to make your own cables. You can also make the cable the length you want when making them yourself. It's only three wires to solder.
Kronos-6, Krome, M3, Radias, KingKorg, microKorg, KP-2, KP-3, KO-1, KO-1 PRO, Karma, microX, monotron, monotribe, PadCONTROL, Wavedrum Mini, Volca Keys, Beats, Bass, Sample, monotron Duo & Delay, microArranger, M1, Wavestation, Volca Sample, Keys, Beats & Bass, MS-20

JD-XA, JD-Xi, Aira (system 1, TB3, TR8, MX-1), Prophet 12, Mopho X4, Jupiter-80, FA-06, D50, CS1x, CZ101, DX200, AN200, analogFOUR, MachineDrum, MonoMachine, Motif XF6, Virus Snow, Nord Lead 2X, OP-1, MFOS, Tenori-on, QY100, QY70, meeblip se, miniBrute, microBrute, Bass Station 2

many many thanks for all your help.

The leads Sharp points to will be perfect, but obviously if I can get a couple of leads much cheaper that are made the way I want, and available in the UK, it would be better, but if I cant, I will see if O can order from them.

I'm emailing studiospares now to see if both ends are the same, explaining what I need and see what they say.

thanks again

Joe
