it seems a while after 1.6, and it also has bugs, which is why i used 1.52 (also has bugs).. any rumor when the next one will come
i just hope that the future OS will give updated sequencer (a DAW style with piano roll ?? or more). also adds some features that most people requested at kronos wish list thread.. also, a new version of editor might be great also!
might be as well as KRONOS Xpanded
Love my kronos 88
Love my yamaha psr s910 as well
Korg Kronos 88, Yamaha PSR s910, Korg C720, Yamaha DTX 520, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, a pair of Yamaha HS80 in (soon not to be) an unproperly treated room..

Rich mentioned long ago that they are working in a future update, to be released including new freatures, but no word after that.

I'm with all on the forum, seems quite a while, and I still don't understand knowing the bugs they have already, why they cant be addressed in a mini update, whilst the other major one is comming through. I mean the Karma bug althought there is a workaround, is a major downer. So please dont make us hang on forever, this is your flagship! please release at least the known bug fixes now
Making music is a passion, not a choice of lifestyle
Keep dreaming folks.
Korg makes no money with update.
Sequencer advanced features? wake up and use a daw... trust me updating the sequencer is a lot of unpaid working hours for korg.
Just reminding you all, every system upgrade came in accordance with a new library or something you can purchase. Just thought I would give my 50c on this. And I really hope I am wrong....but.....keyboard's manufactory hystory speak for themselves
I agree that updating the sequencer itself is not really a business case, as long as the sequencer is more or less functional.
Most people either do not use the sequencer or use a DAW.
Besides, I think most people are more interesting in more features regarding programs, combis, engines and improved UI that is used by everybody (or at least more than sequencer users).

Even myself as 3th party developer of PCG Tools do not spend time on older workstations (before Karma/Triton) because that user base is getting smaller and smaller.
heyy wait a minute.. i do use sequencer on kronos.. the only problem is that i have difficulty creating drum pattern... i have to play it manually.. it would be great if we can "draw" our drum pattern (DAW style).. keep in mind that kronos is a workstation.. korg should have updated it's sequencer (they updated the ones on the M3).. that way maybe it'll attract more people to buy kronos if it has "Xpanded"..

This was not the history with Korg M3 with this workstation, the whole upgrade to "Expanded" version was for free, as well as the libraries, which originally were intended for sale, but not at the end.
And we've discussed that, having a good code base for the enhancements on the sequencer, the effort is less compared with starting totally from zero.
Current gear: Access Virus TI2 Whiteout Keyboard (111/150), Access Virus TI2 Polar DarkStar Special Edition, Gibson Custom Lite 2013, Roland MV-8800
Sure would be nice to have a similar sequencer as the M3 expanded.
Last night while creating patterns(finished making 07 patters) on the sequencer, my keyboard was stuck in sequencer mode. At first no sound would play and i could not get out of the sequencer mode. Within few minutes after trying to save my work the keyboard just froze and wouldn't do anything. This is the second time the same thing happened to me. I'm on OS 1.6. I was using the compare feature a lot cos i was trying to get the take right.
@ LTEDT
A friendly advice to you my friend.
Get a daw and your days of getting stuck on seq mode is over + workflow is way faster and you will get things done. This way you can concentrate more on other aspects of your music. Don't let old technology hold your creativity.

You may be right about a DAW but that's not the point - the unit shouldn't be getting stuck as it is not designed to operate this way (whether there are better alternatives or not!).
My O has never got stuck in Seq mode - ever. Think it's fair to expect the K to behave in the same way. Just sayin... !
