i have done some serious work on the M3 as a controller for GARAGEBAND.
I rarely use the M3 karma it is for synthesizer fanatics and very hard to write songs with. I use the machines insides very little basically just hit a combi
and with a piano string sound in Garage band it sounds lovely to start a song.
I bought the MicroArranger. Keys are too small ( john please no comments )
and i want better sounds and a substitute for the M3 ( i assume ill be able to midi control GB easily with the 500 or 800 or for that matter any of the PAs.
I think the M3 is not geared towards songwriting but rather getting lost in all its intricacies and wasting 5 hours of time having fun but not writing songs.
Ive been offered 850 for it. Ill sell or trade in the MA at BandH and get what i think would be the 500. If money was not the issue here is the 500 as good sounding a board as the 800? Does it have all the styles the MA/SD50 have?
are there users out there with complaints about it?
Its almost 1600 dollars less than the 800. Have any of you frowned on the 500.
I assume the 500 is better than the sd50?
please chime in on this.
Id like one main keyboard as a controller for GB ( one channel only)
and one that allows me better to write songs because its styles and performances are right there. Again KARMA is amazing but not geared towards the writer. And the rest of the M3 can i guess be substituted with any other PA. I dont use the internal sequencers of the PAs so thats not an issue. Am i throwing out bucks even thinking of the 800?
Will the 500 midi control and also provide the similar template and gamut of sounds and styles of the 800/ MA / SD 50 80 or what have you?
thanks so much

Opinions on what you would do about the 500 or 800

The answer is yes. As a controller you'll find exactly the same specifications between pa500 - pa800.losackmd wrote: Am i throwing out bucks even thinking of the 800?
