Kaossilator Pro - won't permanently erase recorded banks

Post by 4dnightmare »

Hello all - I just purchased a used Kaossilator Pro - it looks and works great except for one thing. Whoever had it before had recorded noises onto the first two recording banks. I go through the procedures to erase them and it works, so I can use all four if I want. There's even two descriptions on how to do it (erasing and initializing) and I've gone through them both.

But each time I turn the Pro off and then come back to use it again, those first two banks are filled with his sounds again. No biggie, but it's annoying having to erase those first thing every time I turn it on. Any suggestions? Thank you! Tom

Remove the SD card.

Read the manual about how to format the card and about how to save all the settings to make them automatically load at startup. Then don't do that.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. I had no idea they had included a card; I don't think it was advertised. I appreciate your help! Tom

Whatever is saved into 'slot' 0 on the memory card is automatically loaded each time the KPro is turned on. This allows you to save custom settings, MIDI assignments etc. that will be automatically there when you turn it on. However, it also loads any loops stored on the banks!

when you save all on the kpro isn't it supposed to save the current tempo of the bank you've saved allong with all info?

The tempo IS saved, but is only recalled in the editor software, it doesn't get recalled by the KPro when loading the banks - which can be quite a pain. (I keep a list of all the tempos of my saved banks on a separate piece of paper!)
