With all the different sounds on the WD have you guys come up with any exercises to stretch your imagination and force you to experiment with them?
I turn on a loop and see what I can work in, Inwill do this with three or four loops.

Re: WD exercises
One thing worth trying is to begin by simply picking random implements (hand/stick, mallet/brush, various combinations), then select a program at random (close your eyes and turn the dial), then choose a random tempo to play along to using a metronome.Bertotti wrote:With all the different sounds on the WD have you guys come up with any exercises to stretch your imagination and force you to experiment with them?
You might be pleasantly surprised by some of the results. Doing something like this will often nudge you outside of your "comfort zone" and encourage new rhythmic and textural ideas.

Pick a patch... crank up the sensitivity and delay parameters, and play one handed while you're surfing the net. It's a good exercise in finger dexterity, palm muting and pressure sensor control. Playing along with the delays keeps your meter honest *and* opens up fresh vectors for rhythm development.
Make. Write. Play drums

delay....
a lot of fun and good for practising.
and for lifting off... (which I like )
I couldnt resist and did shortcut
my selfoscillating delayed WD left signals back into the
trigger inputs of my SILVER ,(the one with the jacks at the bottom)
(best with PCM volume at 0 , ALGo only )
then the right channel through an FX chain...
what kind of soundscapes are to be discovered else ?
this WD seems to be a synthesizer with regular audio inputs...
