Hello guys
Sorry for mine stupid questions but somehow i having serious problems to understand how the m50 is working, especially some functions in combi mode
Can somebody if possibble explain in easy way how the arp are affecting the timbres.....one example ,in a combi (dont remember the name) there are five
Timbers active, arp A is assigned to to number 3 and 4....arp b is assigned to
Number 2.....how is coming that when i turn the Arp a of on timbre 4 and its still on on number 3 it doesnt work att all?
A really easy explanation would be great since i think the m 50 is very hard to understand,i have read the manual over and over again without succes, havent found any wids also that can explain this!
Cheers
Jack
Assign arp to timbres

If this is similar to the way it was done in the Triton series.. this is a little work-around.
Seeing as there is no way to set a timbre to be 'off' when the Arp is off. Often you only want a sound to play when the Arp is on, and when it is off the sound doesn't play at all.
To do this, you need two timbres, lets say Timbre 2 and Timbre 16 as an example.
T2 is the sound you want only to play when the Arp switch is on. So this is set to a MIDI channel that is not the global channel - so it doesn't play when you play the keyboard on its own.
If you assign Arp.A to T2, then it still doesn't play because Arp.A is taking it's note input from the timbres assigned to it. Seeing as T2 isn't on the global channel, the M50's keyboard doesn't trigger it, so the Arp doesn't do anything.
To get around this situation, you pick another timbre, lets say Timbre 16. also assign T16 to Arp.A, but leave it on the global channel but turn it's track status to Off (or if this doesn't work, pick a monophonic sound to preserve polyphony, but mute it or route the outputs to nowhere).
Now T2 will play when the Arp is switched on.
This is because T16 is assigned to Arp.A so is picking up the notes and 'triggering' the arpeggiator to play those notes, which in turn are sent to T2.
