3 Tier Keyboard Stands! Help!
Can you guys recommend me a good 3 Tier Keyboard Stand? I'm running out of room, literally.
Are the Adam portable ones any good? http://www.amazon.com/Adam-Portable-3-t ... B001L8PKYG
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm a bit late to this party, but here's my $.02...
I've always thought it's hard to beat the looks and functionality of the Ultimate Support Apex stand. I have one I've been using for years. They're 2-tier standard, but I bought an extra superclamp and another set of 18" tribars and it works like a champ!
I'm an old Hammond B-3 based multi-keyboard player, so my CX3 sits on the bottom (right where I think it should be...hard to stack a B-3 atop other boards), SV-1 in the middle and the Kronos goes on top. Prior to purchasing my Kronos 61 I kept my KARMA on the top tier.
The 18" tribars are on the middle and lower tier, and I have had no problem with stability whatsoever, although I removed the front peg from the central column (the one designed to avoid it coming over on you). I found, that with the higher center of gravity caused by the SV-1 and Kronos on the top two tiers (combined with the relatively-low weight of the CX3), the peg really isn't necessary, with the bulk of the weight supported by the backside (audience side) support.
I suspect that, if you had the cash, the newer US Apex AX-90 would be the most stable choice, although it appears that they've discontinued this model...probably because it was pretty highly priced ($399 msrp) and radically different looking/bulkier than the traditional Apex (AX-48?). The 3rd tier hardware for the 90 would probably cost an arm and a leg as well. I sort of liked the look...especially the fire engine red and flame blue models.
Best,
Fox

I got two of those 3 tier Q Locks myself, but they tend to shake a lot when I play my top keyboard lol.
I think I'm going to get the Ultimate Support with an extra tier at some point. They appear to be very sturdy. They got 1 setup at my local GC with a JP80 on the bottom and a Kronos 61 on top, no shaking, bouncing, that thing is rock solid.
This is what I wanna use the stand for:
Yamaha MoX8 on the Bottom, Jupiter 80 in the middle tier, and the top tier the PSR A2000. If that works out well I'll get a second for my other synths.

I have two of the 3-tier Quik Loks as well. Not only are they shaky on the upper tiers, I've had one break so the tiers cannot be properly tightened. But that's not the main deficit with these stands for me. The distance between tiers is pretty much non-adjustable. I like my keyboards sitting pretty much one atop the other, and when I adjust angles on the Quik Loks to get them just so, I either wind up with up with poor support or angles so severely raked that the upper boards are unplayable. The Quik Loks stay in my studio, holding hardware that's midied from my controllers and DAW.
These shortcomings of the Quik Loks are why, particularly for live gigs where I need to play multiple boards and switch between them quickly and accurately, the Apex tends to work best for me. I can align Cs from one tier to the next and know that my hand will go exactly where it needs to (without looking), with a rise of 8" or so, depending upon the keyboard...and I don't have to play them at awkward angles...they're pretty much parallel to the ground, right where I want them, one atop the other, as if stacked atop my old B-3.
YMMV

go on craig's list and buy an Ultimate support "A-Frame". the only stand capable of hold up three keyboards with out wobbling all over the place.
I currently collect the Ultimate Support hardware and piping as it can grow/change as you evolve.
The problem you encounter with many three level stands is not being able adjust the height between levels, while not impacting the width.
