My first was a Yamaha PSS-360 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3TfJgzZACY). Basically a toy, but had sliders to adjust the two operator FM sounds so could make some surprisingly out-there noises.

I never did anything quite as insane as this with it though! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_olaSzdj0G8

After that I got a Roland D5, which I now regret selling. Run it through external FX, and it sounded just like the D50...

Yamaha PSS-460 as a kid, moved up to a Technics KN800 in my early teens. First Korg was an 01/Wpro 18 years ago.

My first SYNTH, Korg 01/W pro.

My first workstation, Ensoniq EPS. I upgraded the RAM and bought the 8 output expander. I spent a month sequencing instrumental tracks for an album. I used an Alesis HR-16 for drums and the piano tracks were MIDI-ed out to a Kurzweil module. Went to a studio and dubbed each song to multitrack tape is one pass, then overdubbed vocals. Mixed down with studio effects since the EPS didn't have any.

The hours in studio time I saved by sequencing at home more than paid for the EPS.

For playing live, I was glad to get the 01/W pro. That board did it all - no more drum machine, piano module or outboard effects. I gigged with that thing for 8 years.

Mine was a Polysix, which unfortunately fell victim to the infamous leaky Ni-Cad battery.

While I do have the Legacy Collection, to me it just doesn't sound the same.

ARP Odessey was the first I owned. The first I played was an EMS Synthi. I'd like both of them, today, especially the EMS. :D

Yamaha YS200
My parents got it to encourage my hobby. Got it second hand from my teacher and although it doesn't work anymore (out of battery and a key string is broken) I still do have it with me after 18 years of purchasing it :-)

My first was a Yamaha DX-7 followed very closely by a Juno-106. I bought them both new in 1984.

My ARP Odyssey was the white one. Oh that portamento slider. Wish we had those now!

Notice the uneven spacing between keys !
