You're very welcome, graag gedaan, glad I could help.
As for bypassing the pot: you certainly could, just make sure you don't cause a short so pay attention to the pinout (tip: look up the data sheet for this pot on the ALPS web site).
I'm not sure I would bypass it myself, since that would take away the ability to turn down the master volume if you would be over driving the input of a mixer.

Damn :-/ RS doesn't send to "partikulieren", only businesses.. u need a tax number. I tried and that is what they replied.
EDIT: used the company tax number of my mom's business
don't know if they'll send a charge for delivery afterwards but then it would cost the same as elsewhare anyway.
Most important: I got the Alps potentiometer, tomorrow I might take a try on the soldering if I find the time and I'll let you all know.

HA! FIXED!!
I'm pretty sure there are 2 typical flaws in the korg Electribes concerning volume.
And fixing one might compensate for the other one.
1. the volume knob is s**t. I had some distortion and huge volume difference, was very low on the left. Now with another potentiometer soldered in, left and right are practically the same. Maybe the kind of difference other users have noticed on their VU meters.
By the way.. the distortion is not so much apparant anymore with the standard tubes. The new stock Ruby's ain't THAT bad I guess.
2. the tubes are pretty unbalanced. That knob on the back just seems to make them warmer when turning to the right. So get new balanced tubes
Concerning all those factory balancing with the cable etc. You can do those test just fine, I did but in the service manual there's nothing saying anything about adjusting, it's a check up more so. I don't think there's any way on the inside, the 3/4 output where always just perfect for example.
It's the analogue part foremost.
I've read plenty about this subject all over the internet, it's funny how you come across a lot of the same quotes
But often from the same single source.
Anyway thanks to evandepol for making the light shine on my past problem.
By the way... it's not an easy solder... at all. Well nothing like fixing a wire are changing a fat transistor at least. Getting the holes for the pins open was rather difficult, the copper braid didn't aid much and I don't have a vacuum solder remover. Better get some ok gear. And prepare, read what you want to do, think ahead.
I wouldn't recommend this to the twitchy impatient ones
You might end up breaking a lot more than the volume pot.
Anyway thing is practically new.. SD version , only 250€ probably because the previous owner had a volume problem
