Patches for LE

Post by T-bone »

Hi,

I am a user of LE for a couple of years now and I ve been using it for live poprock gigs. Unfortunately I still am not familiar with some tehnical things.

I am not satisfied with some sounds (like piano, harmonica..) and I would like to know is there posibility to upload some new sounds on it. Can they be dowloaded from internet (for free preferably) and if they can - how tehnicaly to put it in the LE? (I have smart media slot on keyboard, but just a simple laptop with no special extensions - how to put a patch from laptop to card?).

Thank you in advance for any help..

Yes you can load samples onto the LE. in order to put things on your smat media card you will need card reader like this
http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Flash-Me ... B00109Y2DQ

put the samples you get from the internet on it
usually you will load a .KSC file and that will do it for ya, then load the specific program from .PCG
you should be good to go, may take some more effort, but you will be able to do it, if you have more questions ask
also visit my website robertrosen.webs.com for some sample (including piano) for the Triton

Thanks a lot robbinhood!

I have downloaded some sounds from your page already and will try them when I get the reader and the card. Hope the sounds will work on my triton le.

Do you know some other pages where sounds can be downloaded?

If by new sounds you mean new programs, look in the download section here (off the homepage).

If you mean loading new sample waveforms - one free(ish) resource is music technology magazine, Future Music, Computer Music Mag (look for the CD/DVD ROM included with each issue).

Issues usually come with a bunch of free samples from publishers such as East/West and Big Fish Audio - sometimes loops, sometimes drums, and sometimes one-shot sample waveforms. Back issues will most likely be cheaper than the $20/issue US cover price, IF you can find them or know someone who has bought in the past.

Google -- Samplers, music sampling, sample programs, synth samples, etc. and see what comes up. Many publishers offer free samples taken from their library offerings.

User Groups -- pick a sampler (e.g., akai MP-series) and see if you can find and join a user group. They may have online resource or user contributions similar to korgforms and would give you a chance you network with others interested in sampling and synthesis.

Happy hunting,

BB

On my website there is an "electronic musician" collection of patches from internet. They are absolutely free. I think you can use many patch from this PCG file ;) It's made for my TR, but on Le it's also works well.

The link for the files: http://oldlipi.fw.hu/synths/tr.zip

Cheers!

Does the TR have sample RAM by default? Otherwise you would have to buy and insert it!
