How to sync my Triton as slave to my Tascam DP-02 Recorder

Post by shoutin2 »

I have searched the other postings but still need help…
I want to use my Tascam DP-02 to trigger my Triton when to start playing sequenced songs. How do I go about achieving this? I want to build my virtual tracks on my Triton and sync it to start playing them when I record live tracks on the Tascam. Any advice, links and tips are greatly appreciated.

Its on p36-37 of the manual

You connect MIDI OUT from the DP to your Triton MIDI IN.
Go into GLOBAL on the Triton and select MIDI EXT (I forget the exact term, but you're setting up the Triton to receive and sync to the MIDI clock of the DP, rather than the Triton generating its own tempo).

Still having problems

Thanks for trying to help Pilbug...
When I go into GLOBAL mode SYSTEM PREFERANCES, SYSTEM CLOCK in my Triton I found two choices, INTERNAL and D/P DIF. As soon as I select D/P DIF I get an error message. My MIDI cable is connected. I set the Tascam recorder to CLK and MTC and got the same error message from the Triton.
