HELP! with Triton Rack and Loading PCG and Samples
I have a Triton Rack and I think that I have a set that was made for an Extreme, I tried loading this pcg set and it says Files unailable, is this because the pcg. file is 2.24 MB? do I have to convert it somehow?

The Extreme based set is telling the Rack to look for ROM sample addresses that are missing -- the ROM set on the extreme is way bigger than the rack - so as the rack looks for anything higher than the Classic/Studio set you'll get an error message.
The extreme IS compatible downward(*) - but the Rack will not load Extreme PCG.
(*) for classic and studio voices - there is not a 1-to-1 match between the EXB boards and the Extreme, even tho' "the entire library of sounds is there".
-----------
You're best option if you REALLY want to use these voices is to find out what ROM sample they used then get as close as possible -- in other words make all the voices of the set you're trying to load Classic-ROM-based (a software editor would certainly speed this process).
-- AND --
in the case of sets written for CLASSIC+EXB, you also have to make adjustments to the referenced ROM samples because the extreme CANNOT look for an expansion board - even tho the identical samples may be in its ROM library.

Well, can I load the samples? I guess I would have to load one by one?billbaker wrote:The Extreme based set is telling the Rack to look for ROM sample addresses that are missing -- the ROM set on the extreme is way bigger than the rack - so as the rack looks for anything higher than the Classic/Studio set you'll get an error message.
