Me, my OASYS and Mediastation used in pro website.
Hi all.
Thought you might like to hear this as it features the OASYS and Mediastation.
If you go HERE and press play to watch the video. The small images at the bottom of the page each open up other pages where a different video is presented.
There will be 9 video's in total but they are not all uploaded yet by the webdesign company.
All the audio was recorded in my Studio, voices overs and music. What was so different about working on this project for me was that I was able to present my idea's to the clients in an entirely new visual way. They were able to stand right beside me while the video footage streamed off the screen of the mediastation, and I was able to play over the video and control it all right from the keyboard.
Being able to present the audio and video together in this seamless way allowed me to quickly show the client exactly what was inside my head, and to adapt that to their needs each time they watched and heard everything and gave feedback.
The midi setup on this was rather simply. The OASYS was feeding back KARMA to the Mediastation which was running Giga Sampler and the Wavestation Legacy collection at the time. I could then use the transporters on the Meidastation to start everything and play along with the video at the same time. It's only a matter of shaping KARMA on the OASYS then and hey presto... I had a audio track for each video that the client was delighted with.
The tracks are very discovery channel sounding, but a little more modern. This is exactly what the client wanted.
Regards
Sharp.

Congratulations, Sharp.
Correct me if I am wrong, but did I hear elements of "Grand Illusion" from Catalyst v 1 on the Order Fulfilment video?
Nicely done on all counts.
Cheers,
Jim (EJ2)

On every page there is a different photo on the left of the screen. Move your mouse over that photo and you will see it's not a photo at all and that it's actually a video player. The controlls will just appear when you mouse over.Arend Groot wrote:Hi Sharp,

@ Sharp - very cool, good energy, up beat & up to date! Like it a lot.
@ Arend - Make sure you scroll down the main page so you can see a line of photos with captions for the services of the warehouse company - they are Sharp's client.
When you click on one of those service photos, a short video of that service pops up in the larger window above & to the left side of the screen. If you click the play button on that window you will hear the music that Sharp put together for the warehousing client as well as the voice over.
Hope that helps.

Hi Sharp,
I've listened to all of them (6 now), they sound great! KARMA fits to making this kind of music very well.
I'm confused: the music is coming from only OASYS (I guess yes) or also from Mediastation?
What a coincidence - I've just finished a very similar work. I've recorded music and voice-overs for a 10-minute short film (introducing a special machine for printing industry).
Please help, what is the proper English expression for this type of music: "cue music", "incidental music", "background music" or simply "soundtrack"?
Thank you and congratulations,
Akos

@ Akos - you could almost all of those expressions! I'd say cue music is maybe not as good as the others you mention.
See what Sharp says, but I'd probably say soundtrack is the most common way of describing music to go along with a video - and if you were to talk to anyone in English about this, they would immediately get what you mean.
Hope all's well with you - and well done on your recent work!
@ Sharp - one day, maybe one day, I might , possibly, be able to produce such enviable results from the mighty O! Really good job and am pleased that client (the most important folks) is pleased

Thanks for listening everyone.
I'm playing chords on the Mediastation and those chords are sent to the OASYS by midi. The OASYS then takes those chords and adds KARMA. The OASYS then sends that midi data (KARMA) back to the Mediastation. At this point the sound of the OASYS and the Mediastation is mixed.
The OASYS is telling the Medistation what KARMA data to play and I have that fed into Linux Sampler and the Wavestation VSTi which are running on the Mediastation. The Mediastation is also streaming the Video footage on it's own screen all at the same time. I can then use the transporter buttons on the Medaistation to trigger off KARMA and the Video feed so I can play to what I see on the screen.
Sounds complicated I guess but it's not at all really if you think about it. The OASYS is telling the Mediastation what notes to play based off the chords I'm playing, and the lot is mixed together while I play along with the video.
Kind Regards
Sharp.
It's a mixture of both.I'm confused: the music is coming from only OASYS (I guess yes) or also from Mediastation?
