Controlling octave of individual timbre in combi mode

Post by EdK »

Hello!

I was wondering if someone can help me here.

I have a Combi with a Piano prog in track 1 and Strings in track 2

The default setting of SW1 changes the octave that both tracks use (octave down). I'm changing that to perform Octave UP.

What I would like to do is this:

How can I setup the combi so that only one of the timbres (tracks) is affected by SW2. In other words, when I press SW2, I only want the strings in track 2 to play an octave higher but leave the piano in track 1 unaffected.

I tried unchecking "enable SW2" in P3 Midi Control section (Midi 4) for track 1, but track one continues to play an octave higher when SW2 is on.

Can anyone help me please?

Pretty sure that the SW1 and SW2 checkboxes for each timbre are only used when SW1 sends CC #80 and SW2 sends CC #81.

Octave Up and Down affect the whole keyboard. If you want to switch, mid-song, to boosting one sound an octave above the other, you'll have to make two different combis and switch between them.

If what you want is to always have the piano be normal and the strings an octave up, go to the Pitch section on the Prm1 tab where you can transpose each part individually up to two octaves in either direction.

Thanks...

Yes, I know I could simply create another combi with the strings an octave higher but I'd rather avoid doing that.

Hi, can't help you, but maybe you can help me. I want to assign pitch bend to the keyboard after touch...is this possible? If so...How?

for the octave problem you'll have to edit the strings on a PROGRAM level and on the pitch page use the AMS in a way that SW2 will affect the pitch +12.00.

For the aftertouch bend it is done in the same place but replace the SW2 with Aftertouch and set the bend amount to the desired.

On my triton classic the AMS for Pitch is located on P2: Edit-Pitch and on the first row all the way to the right.
