Korg Zero8 and Windows 7 64 bit

Post by llavoe »

I installed Windows 7 64 bit and Zero Driver on my PC laptop. I used the Driver from the Zero8 page on Korg's website.

Traktor Finds the Zero fine and I have it set at 48 khz. But the sound quality is very poor. I hear clicks and pops over the music.

My latency is 8.0 ms with a stream buffer of 4.0 ms.

I have clicks and pops that are not related to my latency being too low. I want to try and fix this. Are there any tweaks in Windows 7 64 bit anyone used to make the sound quality more clear?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Which OS runs the mixer's sound card better?

Windows 7 32 bit or Windows 7 64 bit?

Hi

Just wondering, can you post a link to the page where you got the firewire driver for your Zero8 which works with Windows 7 please?

It's been a good while since I tried, but previously there wasn't a compatible firewire driver for windows 7. The latest version I can find is v1.10, which is what I've got. Korg even announced they had no plans to update it (if i remember correctly).

If you can help me out then I'm happy to let you know if I get the same pops and crackles.

Cheers

Zero 8 is working perfectly fine on Windows 7 32 bit.
There is no drivers for 64 bit W7 and that's why you probably have problems. We already discussed this topics many times.

This is a fallacy.

I have been running Traktor on Win7 Pro 64bit for almost a year now with the Zero4 as my soundcard and up until today it was running fine.

The sound card just stopped working, so I went looking for solutions and will continue troubleshooting. But yes, it does work, not flawlessly, but it works - best immediately after a reboot for ASIO.

PS
Any rebuttal on the 4 being different than the 8, I know, it's still the same driver and controller, so that doesn't matter.

EDIT:

After a driver reload, I'm back in action.

Mine has been working on win 7 64bit also but I just haven't tested it out at a gig..I am a bit scared to try it but it works fine in the studio. There are also updated drivers by other companies that use the same soundcard..if you are having issues...there are work arounds to get those drivers swapped with the ones that you currently have and people report that it works perfect in every mode that way!

It was fallacy in May 2010!!:) Yes it's working perfectly fine with 32 or 64 bit driver on Windows7 or Snow Leopard.
btw, I'm selling my Zero 8. Works perfectly fine, mint conditions. I'm moving to Europe and have way too much stuff to move. Hit me with a message if you are interested. I'm in Los Angeles.

Good to know this works with Win7. I'm now back on the prowl for an i5 laptop with a good expresscard slot so I can still use my Zero4 live.
