is the tempo set correctly when you make the original sample?

the ESX needs to know the right tempo of the original sample, so it knows how much to speed it up or slow it down when playing it back at a different tempo. If the sample's original tempo is wrong then the result will be wrong

One thing that I've noticed with the time stretch function on the ESX is that you have to have your samples trimmed precisely to the points that enable for a really smooth loop when you try to play them back in a sequence. This really makes all the difference.
One other thing that I should mention to is that I've also noticed that on certain kinds of Time stretched loops the sound can be rather 'shoddy' for lack of a better word. I've mainly noticed this with loops that have a prominent bass element :?

WELL WHEN I SAMPLE MY STRECH PARTS WHAT I DO IS . JUST HIT SHIFT RECORD IN SAMPLE MODE. THEN I SAMPLE MY 1 BAR BREAK. IF ITS 1 BAR I MAKE IT 16 STRETCH STEP SOMETIME I HAVE TO MAKE IT 17 BUT USUALY 16.

SO UR SAYING BEFORE STRECH I SHOULD TAP TIEMPO...

TRAIED TAP TIEMPO MAKE NO DIFFERNCE I DONT THINK IT DOES ANTHING REALLY WHEN IN SAMPLE MODE?

no, I meant before you sample, not before you stretch. but I'm not sure that does matter - as specifying the number of steps in the sample should be all that's needed

but Dr Feelgood makes a good point, if you have lots of silence at the start or end of the sample then that will be stretched as well as your sample, so trim it properly
