samples tempo
Just wondering whether the tempo of a recorded drum sample ( for example a 2 seconds complete piece) can be changed, when we reformat and save them as a new sound...i had a wave sample and assigned it to a key as a multisample and saved it as a new sound...when i want to record it again in a track or as a new pad, somehow the tempo doesn't change ...
i am sure i need to study more this part...thanks

Thanks Paul...in slice mode, after i play with release and thresholds, still i am gonna have at least 10 attacks for this peice ...then it become very difficult to come to the original loop of drum music after all of these divisions!...is it supposed to be like that?...thanks,paulbelleza wrote:The tempo will change with the main tempo that you have there... the thing is if your sample is only one shot and is long you will not get any changing tempo because you didnt do the TIME SLICE on the sample if you do the TIME SLICE on the sample you will get the changing of tempo...

OK...
What you need to do first is you need to have an audio software like soundforge or acid and when you can make this sample to be a perfect loop thats the time that you will save and put it into the keyboard....when I'm saying perfect loop is that you will cut all the excess of the sample and will be only the perfect sample.. is what you will put into the keyboard because if not you will not have a good TIME SLICE..

so i guess i didn't explain myself...my question was : when we divided a drum-sample loop to different parts in slice mode, and save it as a sound, then how i can come up with the original loop in style record mode?...i mean i need to redo and combine all parts and record (and quantize) them in a good way again to make it sound perfect as original...on the other hand , if i don't use the slice mode, and assign all loop in one key without slicing, still the tempo differences will be problem...

ok my friend you just need to create a new style in able to get the original sample sound on the style just follow the tutorials of Nedim who wrote this on the sticky treats on the first page:
Creating Groove files from WAVE files:
Go to SOUND MODE, click RECORD and you are in SAMPLING MODE. After that click MENU and
select TIME SLICE, once in there on the dropdown MENU hit LOAD and locate the WAVE FILE
you need. After LOADing nothing happens yet if you press a key, in TIME SLICE MODE Adjust
the MEASURES PARAMETER to how many MEASURES the FILE is and after that hit SLICE. Hit
the dropdown again and hit SAVE, sellect a location which has to be one of the USER BANKS
and save it. Get out of SAMPLING by hitting RECORD again and go to STYLE MODE. In there
hit RECORD, choose NEW or CURRENT STYLE and once in there hit MENU and sellect IMPORT,
it brings you straight to GROOVE. In there you already see the available GROOVES, choose the
one you like and under that choose to which STYLE ELEMENT it goes and EXECUTE.
IMPORTANT:
This will only work before the synth has been SHUT DOWN after saving the LOOP in SAMPLING
MODE since TIME SLICE info wont stay there if not used in any STYLE, all the LOOPS after that
will only be regular PCGs!!!
