KLCDE Wavestation Basic Channel...

Post by Delta T »

Is it possible to change the Basic Midi Channel in the Digital Edition Wavestation? :?:

I know in some hosts you don't need to assign the midi channel in the VSTi - you can do it in the host channel. I've got a situation though where I need to change the midi channel that Wavestation receives on if at all possible...

Dave,
You can change the channel, but it won't make any difference to the VST version as it receives on every channel. If channels make a difference, just load two or more instances into your VST instrument panel. Unlike the hardware version, of course, it isn't multi-channel.

So - the VST version receives on all channels - no way to assign it one channel...

I assume by 'You can change the channel' you are referring to whatever host I am using, not on the VST itself?

If that's the case I'll have to find a MIDI filter plugin to limit what channels it receives on. I have several different VSTi's that I'm using on the same port and I want to seperate them to different MIDI channels. Strange that they enabled that for M1 but not Wavestation.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, that's what I mean Dave, the host.

With the Wavestation, VST version, they made it a one instance thing, not multi-channel like the hardware version, and unlike what they decided to do with the M1 VST version. A little off of this topic, but if you look at th Legacy cell, you can load any combination of two instruments, the Polysix and/or the MS-20, and in that you can do different things using channel assigments, wherein you can decide how it will receive channels.
