Duplicating Triton sounds via soft synth (or rack)?
Hi, I'm planning to move overseas, and am thinking about selling my Triton Classic. However, I would only do that if I can find a soft synth or rack module which has exactly the same sounds (and effects) as the Triton.
(I use the Triton as my midi controller and sound/effects module, with Sonar doing the sequencing. I'm not using the Triton's sequencer or sampler. The only thing I'm dependent upon are the sounds and effects.)
Is there anything out there which duplicates the Triton's sounds and effects exactly? Something like a virtual Triton?

The Triton Rack is the module you are looking for. It is a Triton without a sequencer or keyboard. All of the sounds of the Triton are there. All of the feature of the Triton are there. You will just need a controller.
Triton Le 76, AKAI MPK-88, EXP-Sample Board, AMD Athlon X2 4600, MOX6, Dr. Rhythm 880, Sonar, Reason

I think so too but I just mentioned it because that is the only "rack" WS that korg has released after Triton Rack...Synthoid wrote:I believe the M3-M is out of his price range.Synastikki wrote:Korg hasn't released any racks after Triton, but M3-M (Korg M3 Module) is the Korg M3 without keyboard allthough it is not rack size...
Korg Triton Classic 61-keys, Native Instruments Kore 2 (SW&HW)
you keep going on about a soft synth for it, but the point is that none exist at the moment.
KORG has created their legacy collection, which in total now consists of rather realistic emulations of the M1, Wavestation, PolySix, Mono/Poly, and MS-20.
We haven't seen anything more from Korg on the software front for a while now. And at the same time, the market for soft samplers or ROMplers doesn't seem to be huge. more successful are pure synthesis and vintage emulations.
regardless, I do think it would be quite successful to see a triton/HI engine series softsynth. Even if it were as limited as the MicroX/X50/TR.
But what I'm saying is don't hold your breath for it.
