Using Pads for Karma
I would like to know if the Pads can be set to call up the 8 Karma scenes so that all 8 are available at once.
Roland Fantom-G6 ARX1, Korg M3-m exb-Radias, Korg Z1-18v, Roland MC-808, Roland MC-909, Korg microKontrol.
Would be nice but I am afraid it does not work out. Pads can be programmed issue assigned (and configurable) CC# followed velocity value. And after releasing the same CC# with value 0. (also you can assign some note on/off message to pad).
KARMA Scene change can also triggered by configurable CC# (30 default) where value 0-7 represents Scene no.
So there seems no way how to configure/connect these parametres in reasonable way.
There is article however how to do that with footswitch

Good idea.
Article http://www.korg.com/ClassDetail.aspx?ID=111 describes assigning almost anything (SysEX, CC#) to sequenced clip that can be used as RPPR. RPPR can be assigned to key = they can assigned to pads.
If you bother experiment with that please post your results/examples or even tutorial and many will be happy users of that techology that enables using pads as KARMA scenes switch.

While the Sysex > RPRR > SEQ mode described above works to achieve your goal, that's a whole lot of hoops to jump through.
You can also achieve your goal by using the touchscreen of the M3 itself. And you can do it straight from a combi or program--no need to load it into the sequencer first.
From any combi/program, go to page P0:Play, then to the Control Surface tab. Set the Control Assign to KARMA. (You can do this on the tab itself in the upper left, or on the physical control surface of the M3.)
Now you have a SCENE field near the top, showing radio buttons for all 8 scenes. Voila!
